Who am I?

Hi, my name is David. I am from Austria, however these days I live in Beijing. Why? Mainly because Beijing is a great city, people are friendly, my girlfriend works here and I call myself a student (北邮).

What I like to spend my spare time with

  • Family/Friends
  • Traveling
  • Coding (programming)
  • Reading science stuff

At the moment of writing this, I’m a PhD student at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT) in the area of Management Science and Engineering. For more information, please check out my LinkedIn profile, or contact me via Skype or email.

Since I like programming, I tried a lot of different programming languages and frameworks. Furthermore, I’m really interested in management, how to manage people and how to make the right decisions at the right time. Therefore, my current research is related to Decision Support Systems.
From my point of view the most important skills are adaptability and flexibility. For example, being quickly adaptable to a new environment, a new job or to solve a reappearing problem in a different way. This also includes the task of being able to observe a problem from different perspectives. For example, using a different angle, a plain can appear to be a cube. Based on these thoughts, I try to live a flexible and creative life in order to strengthen these abilities.
